MADE LOKAL by Melissa offers hand-crafted women’s shoes made by local artisans who are part of the century-old shoe-making tradition of Marikina City – the “Shoe Capital” of the Philippines. Through their business, the local footwear brand aims to support the local shoe industry by promoting their products online and making them available to the global online community.

MADE LOKAL‘s collection of footwear is designed to provide comfort and style while also offering affordability and durability. Using the Marikina shoemakers’ traditional techniques passed on and perfected through generations, their products are made with high-quality faux leather material.

Unfortunately, the pandemic hit their footwear sales which displaced a number of shoemakers, not to mention Typhoon Ulysses which struck their homes. This led MADE LOKAL by Melissa to start offering handmade and customized leather accessories by the Marikina craftsmen to provide livelihood assistance to them.
